Fist Impressions of Lisbon, Portugal (disappointed?)

Is it really worth visiting Lisbon?

Everyone talks about Lisbon and after living in Spain for sometime I wanted to check out and see what the hype is about. Portugal is a neighboring country of Spain so getting to Lisbon was quite easy. Almost no passport control at the airport. Our hotel was really chic designed in the typical Portuguese colors of white and blue. I walked the streets of Lisbon for 3 days and I must say it is so hilly and uneven that I broke a pair of shoes on the first day. The city itself is full of history and impressive architecture. There are a couple architectural styles dominating the landmarks in Lisbon. One of the most impressive to me was Carmo Convent. This surreal place was destroyed by the major earthquake in 1755 and the roof is completely gone, but the walls of the Convent still remain.
After all I would say Lisbon is a beautiful city with a lot of character, darker energy than Spain but definitely worth the hype!
