Portimão is our next stop in the Algarve Series. What for millennia was a small fishing village and shipbuilding port by the mouth of the Arade river, has recently grown into a large city, driven by the tourist economy. The main star in today's video is the large, famous beach alongside which we are going to be walking, the Praia da Rocha ("Rock Beach"). We finish our walk at the beautiful Fort of Santa Catarina, overlooking the sea, the beach, the port, and the mouth of the Arade river.
