The Algarve in southern Portugal is a dream destination for many Europeans. Even in winter, the weather here is pleasant. That’s one of the reasons why DW Travel guide Lukas Stege went there. He presents some top tips in his video.
Surfers love the Atlantic waves, and you can buy fresh fish, mussels and other seafood at the colorful coastal markets. Lukas takes us to the fishing town of Olhão and finds out how Azulejos, traditional Portuguese tiles, are painted.
You can see oyster banks and mussel fishers on Lukas' boat tour along the lagoon off Olhão. And finally, he visits the south-western tip of mainland Europe: the Cabo de São Vicente, the Cape of Saint Vincent.
