This first winter Bonaparte's Gull Croicocephalus philadelphia, a very rare vagrant to Europe from North America, was still present yesterday, 01.04.2016 in front of the "observatory" at Lagoa dos Salgados (Silves) Algarve, Portugal. I found the bird, in the company of Fredrik Ström, on 19-Mar-2016 when looking for a male Citrine Wagtail that had been seen near the lagoon the days before, but the information had been passed on too late...
